UX DESIGN + RESEARCH

Objective

Navigating the fast-paced realm of perishable cargo logistics, where keeping things fresh is a must and red tape rules the route from Central and Latin America to Europe's cool hubs, we embarked on a mission: crafting a UX solution that guarantees the smooth sailing of high-value, perishable goods.

Our goal? To ace the game by harmonizing and automating the global supply chains and local hero's.

Approach

To kickstart the project, I engaged with a range of key stakeholders, including internal team members, exports, and customers. Their insights formed the bedrock of our strategy.

Leveraging this input, I crafted a detailed customer journey map, identifying requirements and prioritizing crucial "jobs to be done." This step ensured our focus remained squarely on meeting user needs.

With a solid grasp of the user landscape, I collaborated closely with the Product Owner, Analyst, and developers to define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for various application features. This collaborative approach allowed us to build and refine the application in a manner that placed user satisfaction at the forefront, ultimately resulting in a customer-centric design.

My challenges

Time = money

Fresh goods are a bit tricky in the world of shipping. They can't last long, and they need the perfect conditions to reach their destination safely. That's where our clever ideas come in. We've upgraded our system to let us set and watch the right temperatures, making sure everyone involved knows what's going on.

But we didn't stop there. We know that some goods are super popular at certain times, and it's a race to get them to the stores first. To make this happen, we've revamped the booking tool to make it faster, and we've added a tool for planning orders in advance. That way, our customers can prepare, and our transporters know what's coming, making sure everything arrives on time.

Tasks
Dealing with regulation and documentation

Fresh goods come with lots of rules and, as a result, loads of documents, whether they're digital or paper. Getting these documents to the right people at the right time is crucial for releasing or inspecting the container.

So, we've created a task manager to make sure we upload and send documents at the right moments. You can assign these tasks to your team members, and we've taken extra care to keep any sensitive documents confidential.
